Alice is a practical girl that views things more realistically than most and is quite clever. She holds a high value in life and the inhabitants of Wonderland fall in love with her because of that, since the value of life is very debatable (more so unvaluable) in their world. Alice appears as a strong-willed girl, with a rather cynically dark side behind it all, which differs her from the original Alice from Lewis Carroll's novel. Alice is one of the few characters who is like the original. Though she is more aware of her surroundings and questions things more, she is still seen staring off into space and claims that Wonderland and its residents are all figments of her imagination. Many of the other characters note that Alice unintentionally leads them on (meaning she's somehow like 'a light at the end of a tunnel'). Her views on life in general have made her a valuable part of Wonderland life as she teaches many of them along her adventure. She often considers returning home, but is dissuaded by painful headaches induced by Nightmare whenever she tries to recall memories of her sisters Edith and Lorina or whether she considers if she has seen Peter before or not. She has a tendency (sometimes) to get flustered and insecure, and is also somewhat jealous of her elder sister, Lorina, who she deems more 'beautiful' and 'graceful' than herself.
The Liddell Family consisted of Alice's mother, father, Edith (her younger sister), Lorina (her older sister), and Alice herself. They were a happy family, until the death of Alice's mother, after which her father became a workaholic in his grief. Edith became a malignant presence, and resented Alice due to the fact that she hadn't shed a single tear at their mother's funeral. Because of the isolation towards her from her two family members, Alice became very close to her elder sister, Lorina. Lorina was the one who understood Alice the most, and they often spent most of heir precious time together (Sunday afternoons).
Lorina is stated to have died when Alice was set for college, and Alice went to Wonderland through her dreams that consisted of when she was younger with Lorina.
